QUESTION AND ANSWER

WHERE AND HOW CAN I GET THOSE PEDALS?
RIGHT HERE! I love talking to my customers and do my best to answer any kind of question regarding my pedals within 36 hours.

ARE THEY AVAILABLE IN SHOPS?
No. Every single pedal is handmade exclusive on order, one at a time.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET ONE?
I do have all the hard to get obsolete and vintage components in stock. All other parts will be ordered individually what takes some time to reach my workbench. Remember I can only sell 1 pedal a month, so it can take some time due to a waiting list for customers, depending on how many pedals are currently ordered. Feel free to contact me for details.

WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU OFFER?
PayPal.

WHAT ABOUT SHIPPING COSTS?
Free DHL delivery with insurance and tracking number. On orders you don’t have to pay for shipping and handling – as long as you live on planet earth! Otherwise contact me for a personal pickup.

CAN I VISIT YOU?
Yes, you’re welcome! If you’ve got the chance to be around Karlsruhe/Germany just contact me and we’ll pretty sure find a date and a drink we both feel comfortable with…

WHAT ABOUT WARRANTY?
AEREOCROW is a private one-man custom shop. No matter what happens to your pedal you can send it back to me and I’ll fix it. You only have to pay the shipping both ways and the original costs for spare and wear parts.
Right now this happened exactly 0 (zero) times.

DO YOU OFFER TRIAL PERIODS?
No – because I don’t have any pedals in stock except my own ones which are constantly played by me or borrowed to a hand full of really good friends.

DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?
No. But I’m willing to modify your pedal to better suit your personal equipment. Shipping both ways and additional costs (for parts only) are paid for by the customer.

WHAT ABOUT ENDORSEMENTS?
Good question. Not really yes, not really no. A good way to start is to send me precious gifts. Just kidding, feel free to get in contact with me…

WHY ARE YOUR PEDALS SO BIG?
Because special sound needs extra space! I make heavy use of components you mostly find in boutique tube amps and high-end analog hi-fi equipment. Most of these parts are much bigger than the modern industry standard. For example NOS russian paper in oil capacitors, SOZO CAPACITORS and JUPITER CAPACITORS. Furthermore my custom circuit boards are designed to have more space between the single tracks for the best possible performance and minimum noise. That’s why I use original UK-made heavy-duty Hammond 1590X and 1590D enclosures.

WHAT’S AMP-STYLE?
Some of my pedals are designed like the preamps of tube amplifiers. Expressed in simplified terms the tubes are replaced by JFET transistors and the circuit is adapted to run on lower voltages. Well, there’s somewhat more behind it but basically that’s how it works.

WHY DON’T YOU PRINT THE FUNCTIONS ON THE PEDAL?
Because it’s bloody sexy. If you really need markings on the front get yourself some sticky tape and a pen. Get creative or just enjoy the understatement.

WHAT KIND OF BYPASS DO THEY HAVE?
True hardware-bypass switching with LED indicator. To me it’s the best and most reliable way to stomp.

IS THERE A BATTERY INSIDE?
No. Read THIS article by BEAVISAUDIO to understand why. Use standard 9VDC power supplies instead, which have a 5.5mm barrel (positive) and 2.1mm center (negative) plug like the ones made by OneSpot, Boss or Ibanez for example.

IS THERE ANYTHING USER-SERVICEABLE INSIDE?
No. My pedals ain’t gooped like many others and you might discover some small precision potentiometers inside. They are for bias adjusting or clock timing for example and already adjusted for best performance. As long as you don’t know what you are doing better leave them alone…

CAN I RUN THOSE PEDALS ON MORE THAN 9 VOLTS DC?
No. All of my pedals that benefit from higher voltages already have a built-in 18V charge pump for increased headroom. It’s all been tested…
Just connect your standard 9VDC power supply – everything else happens inside the pedal, so you don’t have to bother your head about that.
